Welcome to Year 6 Sycamore Class
Class Teacher: Sylvie Pinder-White
I joined the Redhills team in January 2020 as a class teacher in Year 3/4 after returning from travelling and teaching in New Zealand. I completed my PGCE at Exeter University and always knew that one day I would like to return to live and teach in this beautiful part of the world - Devon. Since completing my PGCE, I have taught in a variety of settings and have experience across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. My aim as a class teacher is to provide exciting learning experiences for children that challenge and inspire pupils to achieve their potential. The most rewarding part of teaching for me is discovering pupils’ individual talents and fostering a love of learning that will equip them for their future.
Currently, I teach in Year 6 and enjoy leading maths across the school. This is a subject that I am extremely passionate about and as subject leader I am in the privileged position to be able to get to know children from across the whole school. It is wonderful to see the progress children are making from EYFS to Year 6 as they become more confident individuals in maths.
In my spare time, I love being in the outdoors walking, climbing and camping. I have a passion for dance and performing arts and I look forward to running clubs in the near future to provide further opportunities for pupils at the school.
