Our Ethos & Values
At Redhills Primary school, we believe that excellence can only be achieved together and excellence is an attitude, not a skill. We have a set of school values which help pupils develop learning habits that will prepare them for a lifetime of learning in school and in life outside and beyond. Our approach is to build the learning power of our pupils. Based on the research of Professor Guy Claxton we aim to teach children to know how to help themselves when they face challenges or new situations.
We build character in our pupils by cultivating five learning habits:
This means helping young people build up the mental, emotional, and social resources to enjoy challenge and cope well with uncertainty and complexity. We believe that all young people are capable of developing this confidence, capability, passion and pride to serve their community.
